When should SkinCeuticals Epidermal Repair be used? One particular recommendation I’ve read from the internet is after you’ve undergone laser treatment for your skin to lessen redness and also for relief. But not just that. If you happen to possess a skin type that’s both oily and dry accompanied with redness, this SkinCeuticals product might just be what you NEED.

SkinCeuticals Epidermal Repair is recommended to skin that has undergone rejuvenating treatments.

From the skin company’s official website, www.skinceuticals.com, Epidermal Repair is specially created for skin that has undergone cosmetics procedures like laser resurfacing and microdermabrasion. It’s also recommended for skin under retinoid therapy or is damaged by the harsh environment.

Epidermal Repair is clinically shown to greatly diminish redness and soothe irritated skin while the cosmetically elegant texture encourages daily use, especially during the critical healing period following rejuvenating procedures.

At this time when there are a few more skin rejuvenating procedures to choose from, it’s important to be aware that there are handy products out there by reliable skin companies to aid the healing process and maintenance.

SkinCeuticals Epidermal Repair is made of 0.5% pure, water-soluble beta glucan, centella asiatica extract, sodium palmitoyl proline, nymphaea alba flower extract and base that is both light-weight and film-forming. Centella asiatica is a plant common in Asia that has so many uses. It’s mildly antiviral and anti-inflammatory. Nymphaea alba flower, on one hand, is just simply the white lotus flower which is popularly known for its anesthetic ability. Both the centella asiatica and white lotus flower extracts are included in SkinCeuticals Epidermal Repair to promote therapy because of their therapeutic abilities. The product maybe used once a day or as often as recommended by your dermatologist on affected areas.

Dr. Bryan G. Forley from www.plasticsurgerypractice.com recommend SkinCeuticals Epidermal Repair to his patients who had undergone Fraxel Laser treatment with him. He said that after the treatment, the patient may experiences 2 to 3 days of redness and swelling as well as a burning sensation.

I recommend using SkinCeuticals Epidermal Repair, formulated from beta glucan and centella asiatica, as a frequent topical application following laser treatment to help diminish redness and to soothe the skin.

However, the product is not just limited to people whose skin redness is brought about by a medical procedure. If you have rosacea –a red, acne-like skin condition – and oily skin, you may also want to try it. I have frequented beauty blogs and beauty forums eversince I’ve become aware that the secret to great skin is not because you’re using the most expensive beauty product there is (although cost does make a difference to the quality) but because you found the compatible skin product. You maybe spending a lot for a certain beauty product but if it’s not meant for your skin (Can I say skin soulmate?), it’s not going to make any positive difference (or worse, it could irritate your skin).

But I digress.

The beauty forum at www.adorebeauty.com.au is one site that often talk about the SkinCeuticals skin care line. One forum member mentioned using SkinCeuticals Epidermal Repair on her skin during winter when the cold weather does all kinds of damage to your vulnerable skin.

I also like Skinceuticals Epidermal Repair as a day cream. If like me you are blessed with the unlucky trifecta of oily skin plus dehydrated skin plus rosacea skin.

So if you’re planning to undergo any rejuvenating treatments for your skin or if you have skin problems like the one mentioned above, you may include SkinCeuticals Epidermal Repair in your beauty kit.

I keep reading about beauty company’s holy grail product in the last 4 weeks now and personally, I’m not really sure which among the SkinCeuticals Simply Clean, Gentle Cleanser and Clarifying Cleanser is the company’s most desired product when it comes to skin cleansing. I’ve talked about my inclination to try SkinCeuticals Gentle Cleanser and Clarifying Cleanser in the previous articles because of my sporadic bout with skin sensitivity and acne. Then again, someone mentioned about another product from SkinCeuticals –their Simply Clean and I know that I just have to know more about it.

SkinCeuticals Simply Clean is good for your combination skin

The company’s official website: www.skinceuticals.com stated that SkinCeuticals Simply Clean is “ideal for combination or oily skin”. Now, I don’t know about you but I feel like I need to know the definition of “combination” to understand the product’s capability to care for the skin.

“Combination skin”, according to Annet King – Director of Global Education for Dermalogica and The International Dermal Institute from a www.teenvogue.com article, “is the most common skin type.” It’s having both oily parts of the skin (the T-zone for most people) and dry parts. Combination skin is really hard to treat because you don’t know which to address first. But with SkinCeuticals Simply Clean’s promise to look after this type of skin, you may not need to worry about things like: “Am I going to clean my T-zone first with one product and the rest of my face with another?”. You’ve got to admit that it’s quite daunting to choose which treatment works best for your face with so many skin improvement products available in the market today.

SkinCeuticals Simply Clean has 1% hydroxy acids, botanical extracts and oil-free exfoliating formula with gentle foaming action for normal or oily skin (and if you frequent their website, you would know I’ve actually copied this verbatim from the product’s “Ingredients” tab). So, Simply Clean exfoliates, clarifies and removes the skin’s excess oil while addressing the dry spots as well.

One beauty blogger that I follow is Natalie Cottrell at www.nataliecottrell.blogspot.com and she uses Simply Clean everyday when washing her face. In fact, SkinCeuticals Simply Clean seem to be the choice of not only beauty professionals but of health professionals too. Heather Nicole Dorak (the owner of Pilates Platinum Hollywood, Brentwood, Venice Beach and Santa Monica) from www.pilatesplushbv.blogspot.com said:

Everyone has their own private skin care routine, all at different levels of complexity. I have always been someone who likes simplicity in routines, so lucky for me I found the perfect skin care line.

Skinceuticals has a line that provides all levels of cleansing your skin, in addition to providing protection from UV rays.

My favorite products are their Simply Clean, Equilizing Toner, Phloretin CF, and their Hydrating B5 gel.

I’m not really picky when it comes to buying things like make up and lipsticks but when it comes to skin treatment products, I can”t afford to have a spur of the moment”-buy because of the way my face responds to them. But with the SkinCeuticals line (I’m using their Daily Moisture), it seems so easy to just go ahead and try. I’m confused though. I don’t know which to try in their skin cleansing line first. What do you think? If you were me, would you go and try the SkinCeuticals Simply Clean, Gentle Cleanser or Clarifying Cleanser?

SkinCeuticals Gentle Cleanser, as its name connotes, is formulated for sensitive or traumatized skin. It’s often recommended when your face is really red and blotchy, sore and scabby, or sunburnt. In other words, you should use it when your skin has reached a point where anything related to washing or cleansing it means “pain” –raw, unadulterated pain.

I’m not sure if I can categorize my skin under the sensitive skin bracket but I do occasionally experience my face feeling like it’s covered with blisters and so tender. This usually happens when I’ve just spent an hour under the sun or when I’m about to have my period. This “occasional” skin situation would last for a week or two and it’s frustratingly uncomfortable and painful especially on the areas at the top and the sides of my nose. I’ve tried several facial washes to counteract this but to no avail. My face will have patches of dry skin right after washing until I learned of SkinCeuticals Gentle Cleanser.

SkinCeuticals Gentle Cleanser is good for sensitive or traumatized skin

According to a review of the product from www.endlessbeauty.com done by Brandi McCormick, the product is so gentle that she’s really happy with it.

Overall, I am enjoying this product. It makes my skin feel fresh and smooth, and if my dermatologist recommends it, it must be good for me!

SkinCeuticals Gentle Cleanser has a consistency like that of a lotion and it doesn’t lather –an awkward experience if you’re used to soapy facial washes. According to Brandi her face felt so smooth and clean after washing it.

The product has orange oil for soothing sensitive skin. It also has non-irritating moisturizers as well which explains why Brandi’ skin felt so smooth afterwards.

Usage of SkinCeuticals Gentle Cleanser is the same as that of most facial cleansers. The product’s official site, www.skinceuticals.com, posted this:

Twice daily gently apply a small amount to the face and neck with a light circular motion.

Remove with water, a damp washcloth, or as directed by your skincare professional

Follow with a SkinCeuticals antioxidant* and sunscreen in the morning

Whenever I’m considering to try a new product, like what I’m doing now with SkinCeuticals Gentle Cleanser, I search for unbiased reviews on the internet about the product. It’s so hard to find genuine reviews, I remind you. So you really have to go through each search result.

Anyway, I found a forum thread on www.essentialdayspa.com about SkinCeuticals Gentle Cleanser. Almost all of them has something good to say about the product.

This is very nice, creamy cleanser with great citrus smell. Very refreshing, and can be used frequently. It doesn’t make my skin red as most cleaners. I have very sensitive skin and I use this cleanser usually once a day, in the morning, at night I use the OCM method. Great product!

I’ve been using this for about a week now, and though I’m not nuts about the smell, I am really liking its reaction to my face. Soft and doesn’t dry out the skin around my nose (good sign of a gentle cleanser for me!)

The smell of SkinCeuticals Gentle Cleanser, by the way, is citrusy because of the orange oil. Personally though, I love the smell of oranges. It’s refreshingly sweet.

Now if SkinCeuticals Gentle Cleanser is really all that, then I think I’ll give it a go.

*SkinCeuticals antioxidants have also natural ingredients in them like the CE Ferulic or Phloretin CF.

If you visit the SkinCeuticals website and look up SkinCeuticals Eye Cream, this will catch your attention:

Powerful ingredients work synergistically in this firming eye treatment to help correct early signs of aging.

I’m trying to generalize how humans react basing on my own reaction, of course. But the thing is, who wouldn’t be attracted to the sentence that defines a product which could very well be the area-around-your-eyes’ hope (or maybe only hope)? I mean, let’s all be honest here. What are the common problems you encounter on those areas?

Eyebags or puffiness

Wrinkles/crow’s feet

Dark circles

Sags

Use SkinCeuticals Eye Cream to combat common problems on the skin around your eyes

SkinCeuticals Eye Cream promises to combat these problems and more. It also guarantees to shield your eyes’ skin area against natural attackers like the sun and common air pollutants. It also hydrates which is what I personally look for in a product. Nobody likes a dull, dry skin –this, I am sure of. And even though I sound like a typical advertiser for SkinCeuticals already, I still hope you’ll consider to read through the rest of this article.

If you’ve come across my takes on SkinCeuticals Eye Renewal Gel and SkinCeuticals A.G.E. Complex, you would learn about my awkwardness in using these kinds of products and how I battle with dark eye circles each day. So, it’s quite understandable if I frequent websites like www.mydarkcircles.com that discuss products such as SkinCeuticals Eye Cream. According to the site’s Eye Cream review,

Among the ingredients list is something called Centella Asiatica Extract which is found in products used to treat stretch marks. Instead of simply coating the skin with a supportive gel, like some of the marine collagens, Centella Asiatica Extract encourages the growth of the body’s own collagen. This effect has made Centella Asiatica Extract a prominent ingredient in preparations that encourage wound healing.

This covers the wrinkles problem for sure. Also, there are other ingredients in SkinCeuticals Eye Cream that works as antioxidants like tomato extract and as skin lightening like barley extract. In short, the Eye Cream was ambitiously formulated to fight the common problems of the skin around the eyes.

SkinCeuticals advises to use the product right after the application of an antioxidant. Use it once or twice per day under the eyes and on the brow areas. Don’t let the product stray unto your eyelids though, if you don’t want your eyes to be irritated. If you’re applying it in the morning, don’t forget to follow a sunscreen application.

Dermatologists and facialists recommend the product. In fact, Keylee Sanders (the owner of the blog, www.keyleestyle.com) had cheerfully received a sample of SkinCeuticals Eye Cream from her facialist when she visited Los Angeles last March. This was how she described the product:

One of the samples was the SkinCeuticals Eye Cream, it is light, hydrating, reduces puffiness and might just be my new best friend!

In my case, I’ll always be a hesitant eye cosmetic user. But my hesitancy has nothing to do with whether SkinCeuticals Eye Cream is worth a try or not. It’s actually more on being incapable financially and just a plain coward in trying some new things. But basing from reviews and assurance from other bloggers on the product, I say this eye cream is WORTH a try from all prospective users. Just don’t mind the poor, afraid-to-take-risks me. When I’m ready, SkinCeuticals Eye Cream will definitely be on my list of the first eye products to try.

I admit that the first time I’ve learned of SkinCeuticals Emollience was a month ago when I was ask to research and write about all SkinCeuticals products. Actually, it was the first time I’ve learned of the whole SkinCeuticals skincare line. After writing three to four articles about the individual products included in the line, I started hearing good buzzes from people within my network (i.e. my friends, my sister’s friends, my friends’ friends, etc.). At first, I thought it was just because they were aware of my articles (so egotistical of me, I know) until I found out that they knew about the product line way before I did (and to think that I consider myself to be always in the loop).

www.bellasugar.com said Emollience will give your thirsty complexion a tall drink of water

Anyway, SkinCeuticals Emollience received the most number of good feedbacks from my circle in addition to CE Ferulic, Clarifying Cleanser and Daily Moisture. It’s a restorative moisturizer for dry skin. According to www.skinceuticals.com, the product is

Three nutrient-rich Brazilian sea algae nourish and hydrate the skin, while oils of grape seed, rose hip, and macadamia restore and maintain moisture. Emollience is ideal for high altitudes and cold or dry climates.

The application of SkinCeuticals Emollience is as simple as the application of any moisturizer. You may apply it once or twice every day to your face, neck and chest preferably after using the line’s antioxidant. The lady from www.bellasugar.com included her own take on the application in her review of the product.

All you really need is a pinky nail bed-sized dollop for your entire face and neck.

… I apply it in the morning and my face doesn’t dry out even the slightest bit all day. It absorbs quickly so I can put my makeup on right away without any base or powder sliding off. I use a little bit extra in the evenings, along with an eye cream and when I wake up, my skin looks splotch-free and feels like buttah.

SkinCeuticals Emollience is perfect for those who are living in areas with cold and dry climate because it restores and sustains the skin’s moisture. They said that it’s due to the natural oils coming from rose hip, grapeseed and macadamia which are all present in the product. These oils are restorative naturally which explains Emollience’s effectiveness. Although recommended for those with dry skin, it also works for those with combination skin (dry at some part and oily on the other).

I put some feedbacks in a bulleted form to help you evaluate SkinCeuticals Emollience more easily.

Thin, light texture

Absorbs easily

Smells refreshing, not heavily-scented

Has natural ingredients like Brazilian sea algae and grapeseed extract

A little of it goes along way

It was used as part of Kristen Stewart’s beauty regimen in the set of Breaking Dawn

Works well, moisturizes effectively

Just a bit expensive

According to the lady from www.bitbythebeautybug.com, Emollience (or the Daily Moisture) together with the Retexturing Activator are the Holy grail products of SkinCeuticals. She’s an actula user of SkinCeuticals Emollience and here’s what she have to say of the product:

It’s a rich, restorative moisturizer formulated with natural extracts and oils. The Beauty Bug applies it after the Activator both morning and evening, and it just melts into Her skin. The nutrient-rich Brazilian sea algae and grape seed oil help to battle the bitter cold streets of Boston and the wolf-packed, dry forests of Forks, Washington.

It’s quite hard to find a skin product that could meet your needs but when you do, it’s also hard to let it go. If SkinCeuticals Emollience is for you, then you might have found your skin’s perfect match (or like what The Beauty Bug beauty blogger puts it: an Edward and Bella match).

The SkinCeuticals Clarifying Cleanser was created for acne-prone skin. If you’ve read about the last post I made for another SkinCeuticals product for problematic skin: Phyto Corrective Gel, then you might already have an idea of how much I dislike my pimples. But who doesn’t share my feelings towards acne really?

I started having acne in high school and it was an excruciating experience because I was the only one in my family (and among my friends) who has this kind of problem. The pimples lessened when I was in College. The reason could have been because I started eating more vegetables and caring more about my skincare routine. But just when I almost got myself convinced that I only had acne problem because of the hormonal changes that my body was undergoing in my adolescence, my skin started breaking out again. Even now, at 31, my skin is still vulnerable to acne. So what’s a frustrated woman left to do? Yep, it’s to start checking out products like SkinCeuticals Clarifying Cleanser and see if it can help me deal with my skin problem.

I first learned of SkinCeuticals Clarifying Cleanser when I read Devon’s (of www.runsleeprinserepeat.wordpress.com) blogpost about her struggle with acne. Her dermatologist prescribed Doxycyline, Differin and SkinCeuticals Clarifying Cleanser to her. After that, I pretty much scour the internet about the product.

SkinCeuticals official site lists the following benefits of the product:

2% salicylic acid unclogs pores and removes dirt, oil, and other cellular debris

Glycolic and mandelic acids gently exfoliate dead skin cells

Microbeads loosen skin cells without lacerating healthy skin

Clarifies the skin and smoothes out rough texture

Treats existing acne blemishes and helps prevent future breakouts

So you now have an idea of what the product is made of. SkinCeuticals advices users to lessen the usage once a day or once every two days if skin drying and peeling occurs. But most users I’ve found on the internet can attest to the gentleness of SkinCeuticals Clarifying Cleanser even with the given ingredients.

Lauren Pantin, a beauty blogger at www.teenvogue.com included the product in one of her article about skin tips for athletes. She said:

Athletes need to be diligent with their skincare regimen to keep the skin clear. I suggest an exfoliating cleanser with 2 percent salicylic acid. Salicylic acid is important because it exfoliates, kills bacteria, and is anti-inflammatory. SkinCeuticals’ Clarifying Cleanser combines a gentle cleanser with exfoliating beads and 2 percent salicylic acid. I also recommend a hydrating moisturizer that contains hyaluronic acid.

Another blogger, Jen, from www.skincarechat.com confessed her love for SkinCeuticals Clarifying Cleanser.

The best part is that after I use it my skin doesn’t feel dry and tight which is what usually happens after using a cleanser for acne. It removes all my makeup but I do not use it on my eyes. If you have a problems with acne this is a great cleanser.

One more reviewer, Rachel Bogart, also talked of how she learned about SkinCeuticals Clarifying Cleanser and how it made such a big difference on her skin in an article she made for Yahoo!.

None of them actually mentioned about peeling and drying. Their reviews on the product are all on a positive note and I’m starting to feel the HOPE rising on my acne-prone existence. It’s a BIG sign that SkinCeuticals Clarifying Cleanser is a must-have skincare product for those who are sick and tired of their pimple-prone skin.

If you’ve tried SkinCeuticals Serum 10 and found out that it’s working for you after a month or so of continuous application each day, then you may want to try SkinCeuticals Serum 15. Don’t get me wrong though, I’m not trying to advertise the product but according to a friend it was recommended to her by a facialist. She said it was time for my friend to move to a higher concentration of an antioxidant if she wanted more improvement on her skin. This got me curious, of course (as what always happens when a friend reveals her beauty secrets to me).

Why? What’s the difference between SkinCeuticals Serum 15 and Serum 10?

Surprise, surprise, it’s just actually the concentration of L-ascorbic acid present in the product. SkinCeuticals, the company, also has another product recommended for you if your skin happens to tolerate the Serum 15. It’s called SkinCeuticals Serum 20 (which contains20% L-ascorbic acid, obviously). But Serum 20 is a completely different topic to write about.

Going back, SkinCeuticals Serum 15 also has ferulic acid (another antioxidant). The product boasts of restoring your sensitive skin back to a smooth, healthy one. It also protects your skin from environmental damage. I’m quoting the previous sentence straight from the product’s official site, by the way.

For those of you who are new to L-ascorbic acid, it’s just basically a pure version of Vitamin C. SkinCeuticals use this element in their other products like CE Ferulic, C + AHA, Phloretin CF not to mention their two Serums 10 and 20. L-ascorbic acid is known to be one of the common elements in skincare products because of it’s antioxidizing power. It needs to be stable to be able to give its maximum effect though, that’s why ferulic acid is added. According to researchers from www.bulkactives.com,

Vitamin C (L-ascorbic acid) is one of the very few skin care ingredients that is supported by strong and reliable scientific research and evidence.

However, it is also one of the most difficult products to formulate with, because it is extremely unstable.

If you read further through their article : ‘Vitamin C and its derivatives’, you will find out how most skincare companies make L-ascorbic acid stable and effective.

SkinCeuticals Serum 15 should be applied in the morning after cleaning and drying your face, neck and chest. Don’t go overboard with the amount you should be using. SkinCeuticals specifically instructs on their site to use just between 4 and 5 drops of the product. You have to remember though that it does not work like a moisturizer does so you should follow it up with one plus sunscreen.

As for SkinCeuticals effectiveness, I gathered 2 reviews from actual users on the web (because I can’t very well include all reviews in one article). The product is the editor’s favorite on www.beautyhype.com.

The Editor at www.beautyhype.com recommends SkinCeuticals Serum 15

SkinCeuticals Serum 15 is one of my favorite skincare products. It’s the only product I’ve used that has made a visible difference in my skin. People have told me that my skin has a glow to it now.

Another unbiased cut on Serum 15 is coming from Melanie Dee’s The 20 Day Test with SkinCeuticals Serum 15 AOX+. She recorded her daily experience on the product’s application.

Day 15:

I’m liking the overall appearance of my skin. Dark circles under my eyes are completely gone, which I never thought would be possible. My skin looks fresher, more vibrant, but still the fine lines are still there.

Oh, well I feel like SkinCeuticals Serum 15, like most great products, needs at least usage consistency for a certain period of time. You can’t expect skin products to work like magic in a matter of days and most of the time, they really are for maintenance (use it everyday if you want to keep that healthy and smooth skin you have now). Also, we should consider skin compatibility. Now if you think SkinCeuticals Serum 15 could work for you, then you should go ahead and try it.

During the months when it’s too cold outside (like this particular month), it’s quite common to get really dry-skinned thus, making it normal to depend on skin products like SkinCeuticals Hydrating B5 to help bring back moisture. Sure, drinking lots of water can be helpful but if you want your skin to show wonders even with the harsh and cold weather, then you should make some changes on your skincare routine while drinking lots of the ever dependable water.

SkinCeuticals made two types of the Hydrating B5 products: gel and masque.

Both products, SkinCeuticals Hydrating B5 gel and SkinCeuticals Hydrating B5 masque are enriched with Vitamin B5 and hyaluronic acid –elements that are proven to bring back your skin’s moisture. Vitamin B5 is known to promote tissue repair while hyaluronic acid acts as an hydrator and is naturally found in our body (in the eye and joint fluids).

In addition, Wikipedia has a more scientific way of explaining how it was found out that Vitamin B5 is can also cure acne. I just have to quote this straight from the source because there’s no way I can explain this through simple and less technical terms.

According to a study published in 1995 by Dr. Lit-Hung Leung,[32] high doses of vitamin B5 resolved acne and decreased pore size. Dr. Leung also proposed a mechanism, stating that CoA regulates both hormones and fatty acids, and without sufficient quantities of pantothenic acid, CoA will preferentially produce androgens. This causes fatty acids to build up and be excreted through sebaceous glands, causing acne. Leung’s study gave 45 Asian males and 55 Asian females varying doses of 10–20g of pantothenic acid (100000% of the US Daily Value), 80% orally and 20% through topical cream. Leung noted improvement of acne within one week to one month of the start of the treatment.

Both Hydrating B5 products are said to make your skin soft and supple.

SkinCeuticals Hydrating B5 Gel for getting back your skin's moisture

I’m sure you’re wondering how to apply the products. Let’s deal with how you should use the SkinCeuticals Hydrating B5 Gel first. From the product’s official site, it is recommended to use it with an antioxidant, a moisturizer and sunscreen for a maximum effect.

Once or twice daily, apply 2-3 drops to face, neck and chest avoiding the eye area. May also be applied to other dehydrated areas. Use after a SkinCeuticals antioxidant and follow with a SkinCeuticals moisturizer and sunscreen.

The SkinCeuticals Hydrating B5 Masque should be applied like how you would a regular face masque.

SkinCeuticals Hydrating B5 Masque for dry skin repair

Use at night, once or twice weekly. After cleansing and toning, apply a generous, even layer to the entire face and neck. Allow to penetrate for 10-15 minutes and gently massage any excess product into the skin.

There’s really a high concentration of hyaluronic acid on this product so it’s quite effective as a moisturizer.

Per usual, I’m a sucker for product reviews so I searched for unbiased opinions on both the gel and the masque on the internet. I found the Kaley from www.kaley-somethingtocheerabout-kaley.blogspot.com who used both SkinCeuticals products as a recommendation from her facialist. In her post titled “Winter Skin Help” she included both products in her regimen and is quite happy with the results.

…On SkinCeuticals Hydrating B5 Gel

I use this serum day and night under moisturizer. It really helps plump this skin and hold in essential moisture.

…On SkinCeuticals Hydrating B5 Masque

My facialist recently gave me a large sample of this mask and it is amazing. It uses B vitamins and Hyaluronic acid to deliver an extra boost of moisture to dry, dull skin. I usually use this one night a week.

Other positive reviews that I’ve found were coming from Emyli Marie Wang on www.beauty-in-love.com and Louise Stewart of Nakedhealth MediSpa through www.latestinbeauty.com. Louise said that SkinCeuticals Hydrating B5 Gel should be a part of your skin treatment during the colder months.

It’s hard to ignore the experts’ advice, don’t you think? I’m convinced that if I need to boost my skin’s moisture especially during the winter months, I should ask for extra help from either SkinCeuticals Hydrating B5 gel or masque.

SkinCeuticals Serum 10 is designed for sensitive skin and defends it from early signs of aging brought about by the sun and other environmental factors. This is a great definition of a skin product don’t you think? I mean most of us hope that with all these skincare lines in the market competing against each other, there’s at least one that’s going to deliver what it promises. Right? It’s really stressful (not to mention hearbreaking and costly) to buy a product which guarantees essentially high effects but actually provides the lowest quality.

With that said, I would like to take up this space right here to talk more about SkinCeuticals Serum 10 AOX (advanced antioxidant technology).

Ingredients

The product’s official site listed ferulic acid and 10% L-ascorbic acid (the pure and potent Vitamin C) as the key ingredients of Serum 10 (thus the number 10 on its name). These two acids are powerful antioxidants and I remember writing about them in the article about SkinCeuticals CE Ferulic. If combined, their antioxidizing power is doubled.

The acids however, especially the L-ascorbic acid may cause tingling or a subtle biting pain but it will only last for a short time according to a blogger at www.womenlovebeauty.com.

I have encountered some minor temporarily irritation with tingling sensation that last about 10 minutes or so during my first few rounds of applications. In fact, some dermatologists believe that these are the signs that the product is working.

Product Usage

The lady from www.labaguette-magique.blogspot.com said that Serum 10 made her skin supple

SkinCeuticals recommends using 4 to 5 drops of Serum 10 to your clean, dry face followed by a moisturizer and sunscreen (you may try their own SkinCeuticals Daily Moisture or SkinCeuticals Hydrating gel).

If your skin can tolerate the product, you may step up your beauty regimen a little by switching to a higher L-ascorbic acid concentration ( SkinCeuticals Serum 15 or Serum 20).

Product Reviews

SkinCeuticals is fairly credible as a company. Not only does it use quality ingredients in its product, it’s also trusted by celebrities like Gwyneth Paltrow, Holly Hunter and was even used in the set of Breaking Dawn as part of Kristen Stewart’s skin care routine. I’ve wrote a number of articles about some of its products that I can assume (as in the case of other SkinCeuticals skincare line products) out of SkinCeuticals Serum 10 users, 8 or 9 of them are satisfied with what the product can offer.

The lady at www.labaguette-magique.blogspot.com has written a review about SkinCeuticals Serum 10 and here’s what she has to say:

… as part of a maintenance programme, it is a great way to help your skin stay in tip-top condition. My skin looks and feels more supple. The serum facilitates skin cell renewal, and as a result my complexion is less dull than it would without.

Furthermore, she added this bulleted form of the Serum 10’s advantages and disadvantages:

Pluses:

Proven added protection level to UV factor sunscreen used daily

Lightweight, easy to apply

A little goes a long way

Skin feels plumper, suppler, healthier

Cosmeceuticals brand, integrity

Minuses:

Metallic smell, may be perceptible

When the serum starts to naturally oxidise, its colouring might tint an area of the skin slightly if not applied light-handedly

Price (serums are not cheap).

I do think that there is no perfect skin product that can erase every single wrinkle, red or brown spot and pimple on your skin. Admittedly, not even an expensive plastic surgery can successfully restore your skin’s youthfulness. But I’m sure that there are effective products out there like SkinCeuticals Serum 10 that can help improve your skin’s texture or elasticity. All you really need to do is to try and find out.

It’s so hard to find a good eye cosmetic like the SkinCeuticals Eye Renewal Gel which according to one internet user has decreased her

The lady at pinklavenders.com thinks SkinCeuticals Eye Renewal Gel is by far the BEST

milia and fine lines. This is just my opinion though, I can’t speak for everybody because I’m the most awkward eye cosmetic user in the entire universe (an exaggeration, of course). But honestly, do you happen to be like me who has (on so many cases) used the face moisturizer as an eye cream? No? I didn’t think so. It was just me because I thought I knew better and it’s only lately that I’ve discovered I can’t continue with this self-imposed beauty regimen.

It started from a very casual conversation with a friend.

“Wow, you look so nice today! You’re eyes are sparkling, did you take anything? Or did you just get enough sleep at last?”, said I to a friend who looks fresh-faced.

“Well, partly that. But also because I’m using this really great product, SkinCeuticals Eye Renewal gel.”, my friend said in a matter-of-fact tone. “Have you heard of it?”

I shook my head not only because I haven’t heard of it but also because I didn’t know that I have to use a different product for the areas around my eyes. I googled SkinCeuticals Eye Renewal gel and stubbornly this, “Can I use a face moisturizer for my eyes?”

The latter inquiry sent me to www.blog.myskin.com for reasons why a face moisturizer is a NO-NO for the areas around your eyes.

The skin around the eye is much softer and sensitive and hence prone to more damage in the form of fine lines, dark circles, puffiness etc.

Aging makes the skin thinner and hence more vulnerable to genetic and environmental change.

Most facial moisturizers contain active ingredients that are too harsh for the delicate under eye area.

The reasons listed above were enough to change my crooked moisturizer philosophy. Simultaneously, I learned that SkinCeuticals Eye Renewal gel is consist of elements to combat lines on the skin around your eyes and to make it softer and hydrated. Tanna Frederick, a movie and stage actress, inlcude the product in her nightly skincare routine.

I don’t know about you but if an actress gives praises about a skin product without even getting paid (see Gwyneth choosing a SkinCeuticals product as well), it’s a validation of its quality. Moreover, the lady from www.pinklavenders.com also talked about SkinCeuticals Eye Renewal gel as a part of her nighttime routine.

This product is by far the best eye serum I’ve ever used. Good value for the price, hydrating and Because it is in gel form, the ingredients are absorbed easily and doesn’t just sit on top of your skin like a regular eye cream.

One thing that you should take note about the Eye Renewal gel though is to NOT use it during the day. The hydroxy acid blend, I’ve gathered, reacts badly with daylight. You may end up with damaged skin. It’s safe for the sensitve areas around the eyes however. Just apply it at night.

Now that I’ve known of these things, you can expect me to contemplate on getting one for my badly-in-need-of-treatment skin areas around the eyes. Hopefully my friend will notice a big difference in me too on the next time we meet. Most likely, I’ll tell her then that it’s thanks to SkinCeuticals Eye Renewal gel.
