The SkinCeuticals Clarifying Cleanser was created for acne-prone skin. If you’ve read about the last post I made for another SkinCeuticals product for problematic skin: Phyto Corrective Gel, then you might already have an idea of how much I dislike my pimples. But who doesn’t share my feelings towards acne really?

I started having acne in high school and it was an excruciating experience because I was the only one in my family (and among my friends) who has this kind of problem. The pimples lessened when I was in College. The reason could have been because I started eating more vegetables and caring more about my skincare routine. But just when I almost got myself convinced that I only had acne problem because of the hormonal changes that my body was undergoing in my adolescence, my skin started breaking out again. Even now, at 31, my skin is still vulnerable to acne. So what’s a frustrated woman left to do? Yep, it’s to start checking out products like SkinCeuticals Clarifying Cleanser and see if it can help me deal with my skin problem.

I first learned of SkinCeuticals Clarifying Cleanser when I read Devon’s (of www.runsleeprinserepeat.wordpress.com) blogpost about her struggle with acne. Her dermatologist prescribed Doxycyline, Differin and SkinCeuticals Clarifying Cleanser to her. After that, I pretty much scour the internet about the product.

SkinCeuticals official site lists the following benefits of the product:

2% salicylic acid unclogs pores and removes dirt, oil, and other cellular debris

Glycolic and mandelic acids gently exfoliate dead skin cells

Microbeads loosen skin cells without lacerating healthy skin

Clarifies the skin and smoothes out rough texture

Treats existing acne blemishes and helps prevent future breakouts

So you now have an idea of what the product is made of. SkinCeuticals advices users to lessen the usage once a day or once every two days if skin drying and peeling occurs. But most users I’ve found on the internet can attest to the gentleness of SkinCeuticals Clarifying Cleanser even with the given ingredients.

Lauren Pantin, a beauty blogger at www.teenvogue.com included the product in one of her article about skin tips for athletes. She said:

Athletes need to be diligent with their skincare regimen to keep the skin clear. I suggest an exfoliating cleanser with 2 percent salicylic acid. Salicylic acid is important because it exfoliates, kills bacteria, and is anti-inflammatory. SkinCeuticals’ Clarifying Cleanser combines a gentle cleanser with exfoliating beads and 2 percent salicylic acid. I also recommend a hydrating moisturizer that contains hyaluronic acid.

Another blogger, Jen, from www.skincarechat.com confessed her love for SkinCeuticals Clarifying Cleanser.

The best part is that after I use it my skin doesn’t feel dry and tight which is what usually happens after using a cleanser for acne. It removes all my makeup but I do not use it on my eyes. If you have a problems with acne this is a great cleanser.

One more reviewer, Rachel Bogart, also talked of how she learned about SkinCeuticals Clarifying Cleanser and how it made such a big difference on her skin in an article she made for Yahoo!.

None of them actually mentioned about peeling and drying. Their reviews on the product are all on a positive note and I’m starting to feel the HOPE rising on my acne-prone existence. It’s a BIG sign that SkinCeuticals Clarifying Cleanser is a must-have skincare product for those who are sick and tired of their pimple-prone skin.

For years, people just assumed that any type of skin cleanser that had defoliant properties had to have some type of abrasive grit in it to work properly. Numerous brands and types of these cleansers that were actually “liquid sandpaper” lined store shelves and people used them without a thought.

As it turns out however; repeatedly treating your skin like a piece of old furniture is not the best thing that you can do for it. Also, o the dead skin cells that realy needed to be ex foliated most, were lodged inside of the skins pores out of reach of the “sandblasting” that was going on, on the skins surface.

Mild Acids and Gentle Microbeads

Skinceuticals Clarifying Cleanser now takes a unique approach to ex foliating the skin on your face. Rather than abrasive grit it uses a blend of mild acids that actually dissolve dead skin cells, oils and grime. Glycolic and mandelic acids work to disolve impurities that may be clogging skin pores while gentle micro beads function in the place of jagged abrasives that are contained in other brands of ex foliating cleansers.

Smart Acne Treatment

Skinceuticals Clarifying Cleanser is specially formulated for problem skin. This is why it is able to ex foliate and bring up a fresh new surface on the skin of the face without causing any irritation. Also, it is a two step process that that delivers a one-two punch to stubborn acne and blackheads. Skinceuticals Clarifying Cleanser can be purchased on its own or it can be had by purchasing the Skinceuticals Acne Care System which is a collection of skincare products that are all designed to work in conjunction with each other to fight the good fight against troublesome acne.
