Product Information
SkinCeuticals Phyto Corrective gel is recommended for those who have problematic skin. But how do you define “problematic skin”? I google everything nowadays (and I’m not embarrassed to admit it) so this problem skin definition is just really within my reach. According to the search results, skin that are prone to acne, too sensitive or are usually oily and flaky are problematic. If this is the case, then I have problematic skin and I may need to use SkinCeuticals Phyto Corrective gel. But first, I need to learn more about this product. If you’re suffering with the same problematic skin as I am, I suggest you read along and learn with me.
First of all, the Phyto Corrective Gel from SkinCeuticals is oil-free and has ingredients like cucumber and thyme extracts to prevent inflamation or redness which also act as antiseptic. This formulation is designed for skin that is easily irritated. It also has hydroquinone and other lighteners for those stubborn brown spots. It could be the reason why its called corrective.
I don’t have much brown spots though, thank you very much, but I have the world’s most stubborn pimples. It’s a cycle for me. I’ll only have approximately 5 to 7 days of no-newly-developed-pimples before my skin starts breaking out again. What’s more, I have to look for products that are for sensitive skin otherwise I’ll get even more problems. So when I came across SkinCeuticals Phyto Corrective gel, I became hopeful. To say that most of its ingredients are natural is an understatement and an advantage on my part.
SkinCeuticals Phyto Corrective gel’s official site recommends using the product twice everyday. One to two drops of it should be applied to the problem areas (in my case, the whole face and chest). Basically, you can use it on the back of your hands, arms and neck. Afterwards, apply a sunscreen for protection.
I admit I’m falling in love with the product just by reading about its ingredients and benefits but my critical side tells me to do more research about what ACTUAL USERS are saying about it. I went over to forum.adorebeauty.com.au and realized that Allison Browning, author of the Allison Browning Therapies blog is recommending SkinCeuticals Phyto Corrective gel to users. Moreover, the lady at thebellelumiere.net wrote this personal survey:
05 Skincare lust: Skinceuticals Phyto Corrective Gel. This is such a gentle product, and my skin is loving it. I have heard that it takes around a month or so to see the full results, but already my skin tone is a lot lighter… I can’t wait to see the continued results…
If you visit www.makeupalley.com there are useful reviews about the product from happy users but I’m posting my favorite here:
Age: 44-55 Skin: Acne-prone, Fair, Not Sure Hair: Brunette, Wavy, Medium Eyes: Grey
An aesthetician told me that I have “reactive” skin and recommended this product. I’m in my mid-40′s, fair skinned, prone to acne, and experience redness. Achieving a balance in my skin has been a constant challenge. This product really seems to calm the redness that my skin is prone to. I like the way it smells and feels on my face, and I can see a reduction in redness almost immediately following an application. I’ve also noticed that old red spots from acne are quickly disappearing. I use this product in the morning and at bedtime.
There are users who are less satisfied though. One said that it did not prevent any of her pimples. This got me because my problem is, first and foremost, the PIMPLES. I went over to amazon.com for more unbiased evaluation. Admittedly, the positive reviews for SkinCeuticals Phyto Corrective gel override the negative ones. So I realized that I might as well try it and see the results for myself. How about you?
