Skinceuticals Phyto Corrective Gel: How Safe is it??
Skin lightening treatments have been around for some time now but there has always been one big problem with them. That is that if they weren’t a fraud, that is that they actually worked, they tended to be quite dangerous.
In fact most effective chemical that function as active an ingredient in skin whitening products, hydroquinone, is banned in most member states of the European Union. This it was proven to be carcinogenic. That means that they cause cancer.
So can you still get these very dangerous skin whitening products online? Of course you can! After all, this is the Internet, so anyone who wants to look around long enough can find them.
However; for people who aren’t willing to risk their life to see their skin lightened, there is Skinceuticals Phyto Corrective Gel. It uses two substances called kogic acid and arbutin, which are both naturally derived alternatives to hydroquinone.
Hydroquinone is not banned in the US but the FDA has removed its safe approval rating on it. In fact even as you read this, there are many in the medical and scientific community who are calling for it to be permanently banned.
On the other hand kogic acid and arbutin are both entirely safe and derived from natural sources. Kogic acid is a by-product of the Japanese sake brewing industry and arbutin is derived from the bear-berry.
In spite of both their natural origins, they have both been clinically proven to be effective for controlling hyper-pigmentation. Skinceuticals Phyto Corrective Gel also contains botanical extracts of cucumber and thyme as skin soothing agents.
Then instead of water, all of the active ingredients are contained in a base of gel form hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is produced and stored naturally in your skin and is vital for fluid retention. Skinceuticals Phyto Corrective Gel is available in the form of a serum in one ounce bottles.

Thanks for your article. It is true that hydroquinone is banned in the EU and yes its dangerous so girls, dont use products which contain it – it is not for everyday use. However Kojic Acid is now also coming under scrutiny and is being discussed as the next lightener to be banned. There are alternatives to this too – I’m using a great product called White Balance which has arbutin but also cosmo c250 which is ten times more powerful than kojic acid but completely safe. anyways – just my view…
