Product Information
SkinCeuticals Gentle Cleanser, as its name connotes, is formulated for sensitive or traumatized skin. It’s often recommended when your face is really red and blotchy, sore and scabby, or sunburnt. In other words, you should use it when your skin has reached a point where anything related to washing or cleansing it means “pain” –raw, unadulterated pain.
I’m not sure if I can categorize my skin under the sensitive skin bracket but I do occasionally experience my face feeling like it’s covered with blisters and so tender. This usually happens when I’ve just spent an hour under the sun or when I’m about to have my period. This “occasional” skin situation would last for a week or two and it’s frustratingly uncomfortable and painful especially on the areas at the top and the sides of my nose. I’ve tried several facial washes to counteract this but to no avail. My face will have patches of dry skin right after washing until I learned of SkinCeuticals Gentle Cleanser.
According to a review of the product from www.endlessbeauty.com done by Brandi McCormick, the product is so gentle that she’s really happy with it.
Overall, I am enjoying this product. It makes my skin feel fresh and smooth, and if my dermatologist recommends it, it must be good for me!
SkinCeuticals Gentle Cleanser has a consistency like that of a lotion and it doesn’t lather –an awkward experience if you’re used to soapy facial washes. According to Brandi her face felt so smooth and clean after washing it.
The product has orange oil for soothing sensitive skin. It also has non-irritating moisturizers as well which explains why Brandi’ skin felt so smooth afterwards.
Usage of SkinCeuticals Gentle Cleanser is the same as that of most facial cleansers. The product’s official site, www.skinceuticals.com, posted this:
- Twice daily gently apply a small amount to the face and neck with a light circular motion.
- Remove with water, a damp washcloth, or as directed by your skincare professional
- Follow with a SkinCeuticals antioxidant* and sunscreen in the morning
Whenever I’m considering to try a new product, like what I’m doing now with SkinCeuticals Gentle Cleanser, I search for unbiased reviews on the internet about the product. It’s so hard to find genuine reviews, I remind you. So you really have to go through each search result.
Anyway, I found a forum thread on www.essentialdayspa.com about SkinCeuticals Gentle Cleanser. Almost all of them has something good to say about the product.
- This is very nice, creamy cleanser with great citrus smell. Very refreshing, and can be used frequently. It doesn’t make my skin red as most cleaners. I have very sensitive skin and I use this cleanser usually once a day, in the morning, at night I use the OCM method. Great product!
- I’ve been using this for about a week now, and though I’m not nuts about the smell, I am really liking its reaction to my face. Soft and doesn’t dry out the skin around my nose (good sign of a gentle cleanser for me!)
The smell of SkinCeuticals Gentle Cleanser, by the way, is citrusy because of the orange oil. Personally though, I love the smell of oranges. It’s refreshingly sweet.
Now if SkinCeuticals Gentle Cleanser is really all that, then I think I’ll give it a go.
*SkinCeuticals antioxidants have also natural ingredients in them like the CE Ferulic or Phloretin CF.
